Performance Studies: An Introduction
Buckle up: starting in April, I'll start covering Performance: Studies: An Introduction.

Is it weird that I’m voluntarily reading a textbook? Like, for fun? That’s weird, right?
Some Context
Hi, I’m Sage and I’m totally ok with being weird. Learning is one of my favorite things. One of the things that I really want to learn more about is performance studies. If you’ve read the About page, you’ll see that I don’t have any formal education in the field. I’m just a nerdy oddball who likes to learn. And I’m picking up a textbook because I don’t know how else to learn this sort of thing.
Onblogway
The purpose of Onblogway is to hold myself accountable. If I feel like I “need” to write a blog post, I’m much more likely not to procrastinate. Ok, I know I don’t “need” to write a blog post, but I feel like if this is something I’m doing semi-publically, I’m much more likely to keep going.
The Plan
So here’s the plan: I will share what I'm learning in the performance studies text I'm reading on a monthly basis, starting in April. These posts will only be available to members/subscribers (it’s free to sign up!). These folks also have the ability to comment on posts.
This post may contain affiliate links, which means I’ll receive a commission if you purchase through my links, at no extra cost to you. Please read full disclosure for more information.
The first textbook I will be covering is Performance Studies: An Introduction by Richard Schechner. I chose this text to be my first because based on the Googling I did, Schechner’s work is the one to read. I have the third edition, but it looks like there is also a fourth edition - I hope this doesn’t make much difference.
Once I get through Schechner’s book, I’ll move on to a different (yet to be determined) text.
Public Posts
As I learn more, I hope to start posting things that will be visible to everyone, members and non members alike. When that will happen or what those posts will contain, I can’t say right now.
Buckle up,
This is going to be quite the ride. Don't forget to sign up to follow along.
